  18. <p>     Iceland, a country claiming boiled sheep's head as one of its
  19. specialty foods, hasn't offered the world all that much in the
  20. way of pop culture. Except, of course, for the screechy late-'80s
  21. punk band, the Sugarcubes. Now BJORK, that group's lead singer,
  22. has gone solo with her album, Debut. Combining jazz, metal,
  23. opera and funk, Bjork croons and yelps her way through a danceable
  24. CD that is climbing the British charts. So far, her best review
  25. is her own: "The only pop music that's been truly modern in
  26. the last five years."
