- <p> Iceland, a country claiming boiled sheep's head as one of its
- specialty foods, hasn't offered the world all that much in the
- way of pop culture. Except, of course, for the screechy late-'80s
- punk band, the Sugarcubes. Now BJORK, that group's lead singer,
- has gone solo with her album, Debut. Combining jazz, metal,
- opera and funk, Bjork croons and yelps her way through a danceable
- CD that is climbing the British charts. So far, her best review
- is her own: "The only pop music that's been truly modern in
- the last five years."
